Review

"Just finished reading Forbidden Kiss. Beautifully written retelling of Romeo & Juliet, I loved it."

"I liked the world created by Shannon Leigh in which Rom was trying to resolve an ancient wrong in a present day setting. It's an interesting depiction of the what-ifs of a classic romance and tragedy story with a modern day twist. It was well-written and the backstory was nicely woven into the story. Although some things were the same it still remained different. I would recommend Forbidden Kiss for adults who enjoy paranormal stories of tragedy and forbidden yet eternal love."

It actually was a modern version of Romeo and Juliet with extras. Really good extras I might add. I enjoyed the way the author tied her story to the classic. But not so much that they died like in the original thank goodness.

Like other reviewers have said, this story doesn't really pick up until at least the 20% mark. But when it does, it's fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the blending of Romeo & Juliet's tale with the modern world. Rom (Romeo obviously) has lived for 600 years, haunted by his failure with Juliet,... ...more

4.5 stars. While the concept of a retelling of Romeo and Juliet is cute, it started off a little contrived. Rom and Jule? C'mon. But the further I got into it, the more it seemed like a real novel as opposed to some of the poorly written ebook romances I've read in the past. I was impressed to se... ...more

There's a mystery to this story which is going to make it hard for me to review. If you read between the lines of the blurb, you might catch what it is.

This is a story that takes a little getting used to.

I opened up my kindle to read Forbidden Kiss without reading the blurb. All I knew was that it was yet another Romeo and Juliet story. By far, the best retelling of Romeo and Juliet I’ve ever read. Ever.
