Praise

"I openly admit, I’ve had an ongoing affection for pirates. The romanticism of the whole idea is so intriguing! Author Meg Hennessy has brought that world to life again….in this novel. It was enchanting. The scenes and imagery seemed to jump off the page, while the characters brought so much heart and depth to the story, they almost seemed real. " - Night Owl Reviews

Wow, I liked this book. It's the second one I've read by this author, and I like it for a lot of the same reasons I liked the first one. It's set in Louisiana in the early 1800s, and the author has really captured the rich, mysterious feeling of the place and time.

Because of a past trauma, the he... ...more

An excellent 2nd installment to the Secrets of the Bayous trilogy! I'm a sucker for trilogies and Meg Hennessy does not disappoint in this series! It is not necessary to have ready book 1 to love book 2, but I'm still glad to have read that one first! If you read this one and liked it, be sure to... ...more

I wasn't sure of this book at first because I was looking for a romance and these two had already had a child and split up. However, it turned out to be a traditional ship bound historical pirate story in the best sense. All the things I loved about 1980s pirate stories and no rape scene! Fantast... ...more

About the author

Meg Hennessy

Award winning author, Meg Hennessy, lives amid rolling hills of the Kettle Moraine in Wisconsin. Besides writing, spoiling her first grandson or pampering her much-loved horse, she enjoys backyard birding and admits to being a gardening addict. With her father born and raised on Mississippi's gulf coast, Meg grew up immersed in the culture of an old Southern family and writes with a strong Southern flavor. It was her sense of wonderment when visiting her grandmother's home as a child that now bubbles upward into her writing of today.
