He’s always been her weakness…

Injured and discharged, Marine Levi Haywood has returned to his family’s ranch to heal and start a new life. After all, once a cowboy, always a cowboy. The only problem? Life at the ranch has moved on since he joined the service, and suddenly his role in the family business is much less clear. And things get a lot more confusing when the woman he left behind returns home.

Carrie Lynn Waite has never known a time when she didn’t love Levi. They were childhood sweethearts, but because of her health, she was forced to move to the city, away from the ranching life. Now Carrie’s come home only to learn her family’s ranch is in trouble and Levi is back, along with an undeniable attraction she can’t resist. But some things never change, forcing Carrie to choose the future laid out before her…or the cowboy she could never resist.

Review

"Oh Levi! I'm more than a little in love with you... All strong, tough cowboy, but still bruised, scarred and maybe even a little scared. These [characters] had a real connection and it was fantastic to watch them figure it out." -- Give Me Books

"Relatable characters, hot and steamy love scenes, as well as the doubt and strong feelings just made me a happy reader. Written in third person point of view, showing both Carrie Lynn's and Levi's perspective, the writing drew me in from the beginning and kept me involved until the very end." --(un)Conventional Book Views

"A real roller coaster ride of emotions, this book is a book I have no hesitation in highly recommending!" --Splashes Into Books

"There's plenty of love here, not to mention humour, banter, family pressures and pain and support, and it left me wanting to know more."-- Book Gannet

"What a heartfelt story of a second chance with your first love. Levi and Carrie, both broken inside and out, helped each other heal. A beautifully well written story that made my heart swell in several places." -- Lori

I've adored Elizabeth Otto's Paint River Ranch series and Can't Resist a Cowboy is a good finale. Granted, for me, it didn't hold quite the emotion pull as its predecessors, but Levi and Carrie were another endearing couple who haven't had an easy-time of things.

This sexy second chance romance is the story of Levi and Carrie. Really enjoyed this one.

Really liked Levi and Carrie and the way they dealt with things in the end.

The way Carrie dealt with her diabetes and then her upcoming blindness was realistic in a way, I mean, all her life others told her what to do and she finally got her saying on things, e... ...more

This book is #3 in this Elizabeth Otto series and is better than #1 and much, much, much better than #2 which I found to be simply one erotic sex scene after another. #2 had an ok heroine, but the hero was, in my estimation, a very shallow man.

About the author

Elizabeth Otto

Elizabeth Otto grew up in a Wisconsin town the size of a postage stamp, where riding your horse to the grocery store, and skinny dipping after school were perfectly acceptable. No surprise that she writes about small communities and country boys. She's the author of paranormal and hot, emotional, contemporary romance, and has no guilt over frequently making her readers cry. When not writing, she works full-time as an Emergency Medical Technician for a rural ambulance service. Elizabeth lives with her very own country boy and their three children in, shockingly, a small Midwestern town.
