Grace Harper is a pro at handling the unexpected—which comes in handy when she inherits the ranch she ran away from years ago…along with a young, autistic stepbrother she’s never met. And because nothing ever goes easy for her, Grace finds her frustrating, sexy ex-flame, Noah, taking care of JJ. But if she’s getting out of this nowhere town, she’ll have to find a way to keep from throttling Noah—without kissing him first.

Noah Taylor may be enemy number one to Grace, but she needs his help. He knows the girl he used to love is still there, beneath the heels and fancy clothes, so he’ll help her—and keep his distance like she says she wants. Only the more time they spend together, the closer he wants to get. Graci has no intention of staying, but she belongs in his arms—he just has to prove it to her.

No Cowboy Required was such a heartwarming story filled with small town charm. I adored the characters, I had a lot of fun watching how the story progressed and the happy ending left a huge smile on my face. This was JoAnn Sky's debut novel and I'll definitely be checking out her future books!

Grace returns home for the first time in many years. She's inherited her father's ranch and has been given custody of her ten-year-old stepbrother JJ. She's never met him and doesn't know anything about him. The only person he has left to look after him is Noah, the man who broke Grace's heart. She' ...more

This is a delightful second chance romance with great characters, a lovely setting and plenty of twist and turns, anguish and romance along the way. This is a modern day romance set in Reno, Nevada. It was ironic because I was in Reno for the RT book convention. Reno is a beautiful state, and the mountains are intensely beautiful. We have mountains here in N ...more

I received this book in exchange for an honest review on NetGalley. I enjoyed the story a lot. It was my first book by this author. We meet Grace whose dad and step mom had been killed in an accident, leaving her custody of her stepmom’s son JJ. JJ is 10 and autistic. Grace returned to her childhood ...more

I loved, loved, loved this book! It has all the necessary requirements for a keep-you-up-all-night romance read. Noah is a hunky and multilayered hero, Grace is a strong-willed and conflicted heroine, and Grace’s step-brother is a touchingly vulnerable and believable secondary character who’ll steal ...more

This was a wonderfully heartwarming story with the small town flair I adore. That's ok. She'll ...more

This is the first book I read by JoAnn Sky. I highly recommend reading this book. Grace moved away from home to follow her dreams. She left because she thought she failed as a daughter . Returning home is hard for Grace Harper, but when she inherits a ranch she hasn't spent time at in years and becomes the guardian of her young, autistic stepbrother, Grace knows she doesn't have a choice but to face her past. I like the theme of this story. Autism doesn't very often appear in novels and this one projects the main aspects of one of the autistic spectrums.

This book has fade-to-black sex and one (inexplicably out of place) f-bomb that is easily skipped over if that kind of thing offends you. Other than that, there's not much here that readers who like “clean and sweet” books should find off-putting.

The writing in this book was really, really good. Whi ...more
