I’m thrilled that my first trip back to my homeland, after years in exile, is for an assignment from the prime minister. Even better, the job's to put Princess Genevieve in her cutting off her cash flow. Spoiled royals—even drop-dead gorgeous ones—don't do anything to deserve their wealth and status. Hell, they don't do anything. She's fighting me tooth and nail, of course. The only way to stop her arguing is, well, to kiss her.

And I can't seem to stay away from her. Now, I see a whole different side to the princess—and not just because I've gotten her clothes off. But I was put on this assignment for a reason… There are those outside the castle who want to see the princess discredited and push their own agenda, and I may have just given them all the ammunition they need.

I’m glad Genevieve got her own book, because she annoyed me in her sister’s. I understood some of why she was aloof, but getting her entire backstory, and seeing her humanity, just made me love her. It's been a while since I read a contemporary romance featuring royals and that's why I requested this book from Netgalley. Besides, the romance is a classic enemy-to-lovers thing where the guy is not fond of the royal girl. I'm happy to say that Ruling the Princess didn't disappoint.

Theo might just be a tad bit paranoid, "why was she staring at him? ***t, had the woman noticed that he hadn’t been able to take his eyes off her since he’d arrived?" An enjoyable read, a nice romance with relatable characters, my first book in the series but I wasn’t lost at all. I didn’t find not knowing the other books put me at a disadvantage. It’s an interesting look at royal life and has a good twist at the end, an entertaining read.
