Bound by honor, caught by desire…
Former Marine Alex McCray is ripped up inside over the knowledge that his best friend died saving him. Now he’s returned to his hometown to honor a promise he made—to take care of his buddy’s widow. Semper fidelis. “Always loyal.” But Alex’s loyalty is about to be tested, because there’s never been a time when Reagan Sanders didn’t make him burn with desire.
All it takes is one night for Reagan and Alex to give in to the deep, carnal need they’ve denied themselves for so long. But Reagan has secrets of her own―secrets Alex can never know about her marriage, or the kind of man her husband really was. But one night with Alex isn’t enough. Not even close. Now Alex must choose between his sense of honor…and his heart.

This is a beautiful story about 2nd chances.
Things aren't always what they seem and Reagan knows this better than anyone. She was married to a marine who died in the line of fire. He is now the town hero to everyone except his wife. She knows exactly what sort of man he was & h ...more
Thoughts: If you’re looking for a good non-action, military romance, this one will fit the bill nicely. Reagan’s military spouse dies and is a real hero within the community that they live. However, for Reagan he was far from a hero. Instead, he was an abusive husband with whom she spent years livin ...more
I love a good military themed romance so I was really excited to read this after reading the synopsis. I couldn't wait to see how the author brought the couple together after the death of their husband and friend. Knowing how honorable and loyal military men can be, I wanted to see what secret Reaga ...more

I do so love to read when the man is ex military because you never know what to expect from them. In this one this author gives you a taste of something alittle different. I would say that also the one affected most was not the man but the female in this story. Reagan is the wife of his best friend ...more
I enjoyed this book a lot. I thought it took a different perspective/idea on the whole military guy and the girl back home.

Wow, this book pretty much sucker punched me. I tried to be prepared for a heartbreaking story about a widow and her dead husband’s best friend. I knew it was going to be sexy cause it’s a Brazen book and it definitely had scorching moments in spades. And yeah there was some confliction about acting ...more
Although this book is a romance it also touches on a very taboo issue.

Shatter Me is an intense emotional story that left me feeling drained. Regan Sanders is a widow. She's recovering from the loss of her abusive husband. She's finally free and can rebuild her life. She's shunned by the town because she hasn't grieved in an appropriate manner. They don't know what she ...more

It's amazing how different can people think about someone. A man has a multiple faces - one for his family, one for the person he loves the most, one for his friends and one for everyone else.
